Editing one’s work is one of the hardest things. Congrats on taking that step. Private Equity is a great financial memoir. I interviewed Carrie when it came out and she is so brilliant and thoughtful about what wealth really means.
If you are getting your head stuck into AI right now, you should read Emad Mostauqe's The Last Economy. A really great read that sets up the future with these models.
I basically asked Claude (Anthropic's AI tool) to create a series of Python Scripts that could pull my phone contacts, email contacts, and Twitter / Linkedin connections and put them in different spreadsheets with name, twitter/Linkedin handle, email, phone #, location, notes on how I know them, what they do, etc.
Then another script to consolidate and deduplicate them. Then several hours of hacking away.
Looking forward to more young money! Coming from a career anxious college student (hard not to be if you’re in the age range rn given the market) this newsletter has been one of the most helpful/aspirational things I’ve read, even when it’s not a help/advice post!
Honestly not too too many markups initially. The big shift was I felt that I needed to aggressively restructure it and she was super helpful with back and forth ideas as I worked through rearranging everything.
My first book thingy I did for the pathless path was hanging out 50 free books at a dive bar in Austin. Highly recommended.
I read Private Equity this year as well! I recommend to all my friends living/working in New York
I ordered Private Equity. Thanks for the suggestion.
I think you'll especially love it given your Wall Street background

Your personal rolodex software is so cool! Are you able to share more on how you're implementing it?

Great post man. I hope we can be good friends on here. I don't want my posts to just be about personal finance as well. Still figuring that out.
What advice do you have in creating a personal rolodex tool? I want to make one but don't know where to start particularly on how to structure it

Welcome back! This is such a great idea, thank you for sharing.
Welcome back! Hopefully Chicago's on your list for the book tour, I know the spots if you need recs!
I’m in
🤝🏼 let’s make it happen
Glad you’re back dude!! Can’t wait for the book
Thanks for the suggestion of Private Equity: A Memoir.
I've been in the trading space for nearly 30-years, books like this and of course Market Wizards satiate that voyeur tendency we all have.
Happy Holidays to you and your family.
David Floyd
He’s back! I’m biased because I live here, but you should stop by Chicago on your book tour.
I miss your shitpost. Maybe once a month or so? With your hiatus you should have a lot of material to work with.

Dude you are too kind, if you like the newsletter you'll love the book!
Curious hear about about your editors comments on the mss. Collaborative process in my long experience.
