I really enjoyed this take, I do think one of the biggest reasons people are apathetic is because they are unaware that they are apathetic! You kind of have to "wake up" to really understand what it is this essay is saying, you see it or you don't!

$32 for a hardcover? Big literature. Bold of them to assume I have hardcover money.

Going to have to wait on Chamath’s next SPAC before I check out.

I’m curious if you will feel the same way if you get married, have kids, need to care for aging parents, etc. Life priorities change and that email job becomes quite attractive once the career and individual ambition is only one of multiple top priorities.

How does this contradicts what he says?

"Maybe you want to work on an independent business venture, and a low-stress job subsidizes your ability to work on the side hustle in your free time."

Just substitute "business venture" with "family".

Thanks for this message. It is so easy to accidentally become complacent and just coast. I struggle with this myself. There doesn't seem to be an easy solution after so long spent at the same slow speed
